Morning light transforms Tomball’s historic Depot Plaza into a quiet celebration of the season, where the warmth of the sun and the peaceful rhythm of everyday life become just as memorable as the holiday traditions themselves.
About the Painting
Holiday Glow at the Depot was inspired by an early December morning at Tomball’s historic Depot Plaza. As the rising sun filtered through the trees, it filled the park with warm light and long shadows, creating one of those fleeting moments that invite you to slow down and simply take it in.
Decorations provide a gentle reminder of the season without becoming the focus. Instead, I was drawn to the interplay of light and atmosphere, the graceful curves of the walkway, and the quiet presence of a couple walking their dog through the park. Together, these elements create a sense of peace, familiarity, and belonging.
I hope the painting evokes the feeling of returning to a place that has become part of your own story. Whether you’ve visited Tomball’s Depot Plaza or have a cherished gathering place in your own community, the scene speaks to those quiet moments when ordinary places are transformed by beautiful light and the passage of time.
